Aberdeen is a place in Hong Kong. This movie setting is Aberdeen. The plots surround a three-generation family that appears to be living together harmoniously.
However…among the family members…
A middle-aged model mummy is at the rock bottom of her career, haunted by her teenage fat image. Whenever her hubby says that their daughter needs to be independent in case she grows up to be an ugly, unwanted lady, the mummy feels humiliated thinking that her daughter resembles her.
A museum tourist guide…her hubby has a sexual relationship out of marriage…she is haunted by her childhood memory of being raped…and her thinking cycle that she is deemed worthless by her parents…has illusion that her late mother hates her…
A little girl forces herself to eat durian because her dad encourages her to eat durian…eat till sick…her pet dies…what she have heard of reincarnation from adults makes her think that her pet comes back to her after death…
The story ends with happiness when all the characters break free from their childhood black memory. The unforgettable line is…what is life? Life is not a destination but the ins and outs of breathing.

There are two characters in our body…the baby and you…the depressed and the seemingly happy you…you have to make these two characters good friends…Sometimes, we are searching in the external world to fill in the void in our heart…but the missing pieces are to be found in us…by uniting the two friends with acceptance, love and forgiveness…the void can be filled.
