Alcohol in facial products. Good or bad?

Some said the content of alcohol in facial products is bad for our skin. How true is that?
Some alcohols are indeed harmful to our skin but some are not. Do you know that Vitamins A and E are actually alcohols even though the word ‘alcohol’ is not in their name?
When choosing your facial products, take note of ingredients like ethanol, ethyl alcohol, denatured alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and SD alcohol that are harmful and drying to your skin.
Some good alcohols found in facial products are listed below:
Cetyl alcohol: Extracted from coconut oil, it is used in facial products to stabilize the formulations, alter their consistencies or increase their foaming capacity. Although generally regarded as a low hazard, there are some studies that have proven its irritability.
Stearyl alcohol:  Derived from coconut oil, it works as an emulsifier for firming skin care formulations.
Cetearyl alcohol: Derived from natural oils and fats, it is an emulsifying wax for softening thick formulas like skin ointments. It is very efficient in stabilizing skin care formulations.
One useful tip to avoid irritation from alcohol is to control alcohol consumption, especially when you are using skin care products that contain Vitamin A.
