Top causes of aging skin
1. Sunlight
Don’t think that sunlight will cause aging skin to only elder people who are exposed to sunlight frequently. So is for younger people. Aging skin may not show when you’re young and frequently under sunlight, but you will feel the rapid aging process later in life. Tanning is a sign of skin damage caused by the penetrating ultraviolet rays that ruin your skin’s support structure.Most wrinkles are caused by sun exposure throughout life.
2. Smoking
Mayo Clinic reported that smoking leads to a faster skin’s natural aging process, which can affect smokers who have smoked for as few as 10 years. Smoking can cause the production of free radicals that damage cells, leading to numerous problems and one of them is premature wrinkles.  Most of the times, at first, deep lines and wrinkles appear around your mouth. Then, a yellowish tinge reveals itself on your skin and teeth.
3. Stress
Stress can cause tense and stiff muscles, leading to the obstruction of blood flow that in turn impedes the removal of waste from the tissue. The rejuvenation of  your skin can also be failed by your stress level, causing skin renewal to slow down. More cortisol resulted by stress can weaken the natural defenses of your skin against environment pollutants. In short, stress makes you older.
4. Yo-yo dieting
No matter whether you are gaining a large number of pounds or losing a large number of pounds, if you do it in a short time by starving or binge eating, you are giving yourself aging skin. This is because repeated stretching of the skin may grab away the elasticity, youthfulness and firmness of your skin.
Steps to ward off aging skin
1. Staying out of the sun
Covering up by wearing a hat, long sleeve clothes or long pants. Invest in a sunscreen.
Choose sunscreen with sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. An SPF 15 product blocks about 94% of UVB rays; an SPF 30 product blocks 97%; and an SPF 45 product blocks about 98%. Sunscreens with higher SPF ratings block slightly more UVB rays, but none offers 100% protection.

Go for a water-resistant sunscreen. Apply it one half hour before going outdoors. Reapply it every two hours or after swimming, drying off, or sweating. Even if it’s SPF 800 or the best UVA protection, after a few hours it’s gone.

If you are pregnant, nursing, or applying sunscreen on a small child, watch out with the high SPF that is related to increased chemical exposure.

2. Change of diet
Lose your weight at a reasonable pace. Most experts recommend losing a pound a week. Avoid binge eating, which leads to rapid weight gain that could stretch the skin.
3.  Collagen
Lack of the production of collagen in our body due to the aging process is worth our attention. 80% of our skin is made up of collagen, the protein that connects and supports bodily tissues, holding skin together. Green leafy vegetables such as spinach, cabbage, kale and asparagus can boost collagen production.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin needed by the body to form collagen. Vitamin C is available in a multitude of berries, as well as citrus fruits. Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and cranberries are highly recommended in your shopping list.

Soybeans contains protein, isoflavones, fiber, and all essential amino acids that are good for skin. Beans like pinto, kidney and navy beans are a good source of hyaluronic acid, a potent anti-aging substance that is essential in preventing wrinkles and skin sagging.

4. De-stress

Try regular exercise, both aerobic and strength training. Yoga, meditation and breathing exercises are ideal for relaxation. Adequate and restful sleep and a positive mental attitude are essential for a stress-free life.
