Just read “You Are the Apple of My Eye” by Giddens. It is awesome. I love it to bits!
There is one quote that triggers me, which is “If you risk nothing, you risk anything.” Well, guess that’s pretty true. If I never try, I will regret for the rest of my life, wondering what the outcome would be. Whenever there is a sacrifice, there will be a blessing. Whenever there’s a blessing, there had been a sacrifice. I just have to see what to sacrifice to get what I really want in life. It seems like I need to make a choice. Now, I am wondering of where to step in for my first job.
There is also one quote in the book, which is “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get.” hmm….I guess it is not about which kind of chocolate you get when you die, it’s about your joy and solitude when you taste the chocolate. The way a life ends doesn’t matter, as the beauty of a life depends on whether you have burnt brightly by your own combustible material during your life.
The author changed from a low-achiever to a high-achiever in academic study because of a brilliant girl who sat behind him and always encouraged him. Now, I see that love motivates and creates miracles. The novel ends well with the forever unbroken friendship between the author and the girl. They can get enriched by their friendship, without needing any returns. That’s beautiful.
Love is simple in this novel, just like this song from Show Luo.
